Hello Million Friends,
I can’t believe an entire month has passed and I haven’t blogged once. I think I just had a case of blogging burnout. It’s a new syndrome sweeping the world – BBS – Blogging Burnout Syndrome.
So here is some fat for you to chew on! There are so many painters that inspire me, but in the latest Artists Magazine there is an article on Jeremy Lipking. He takes painting to a “whole natha level”.
Another artist that inspires me is J.W.Waterhouse and I don’t hear much about him inspiring anyone. This is a subject that I will address in another blog.
So why do I paint the way I do? Because I don’t aspire to paint nature as it is. I start with a sketch outside, then as much as I hate to work from a photo, it’s necessary to finish the piece. Nature is beautiful, but I must make it my own, thus the blue trees, bright yellow, gray, abstract fields.
I plan to paint figures, they’re much more interesting. Painting landscapes is necessary for my next show.
I’m off to swim aerobics, hey now, it’s not for sissies.
Pray For Peace,
Chris

I love how you describe your approach here! and the painting is vibrant, calm at the same time, beautiful,
Andrea
Yup, all blogged out. I know that feeling. Chris, I don’t do swimming aerobics because I’m not five foot tall, and when they tell us to jump, my head is under the water when I bend my knees in anticipation. Scuba aerobics, that’s what I used to do.
BBS, I like that. (I get it too!) Jeremy Lipking is an amazing painter, his work inspires me each time I see it. I always enjoy your unique way of portraying nature, always a prominent mood or feeling in your work.
I do like this Blog, it is really nice.
Cestandria, Peggi, Yellow, Mohammed,
Thank you all for commenting on this blog post. Your comments are valuable to me!

Bravo! This morning Robert Genn reminded us of Charles Reid’s book title “Painting What You Want To See”. If we’re not doing that, I think, we’re cheating ourselves.
