I’ve written before about How To Use Pictures In Your Blog Posts and various other media, and I’ve found a web site that searches the flickr Creative Commons photos. It’s called compflight, which is a search tool for flickr, thus compflight + flickr search tool.
You can certainly use the search mechanism at flickr but compflight is a bit more flexible and just plane cooler. Here’s a screen shot below.

compflight lets you search on what you’re looking for and presents a full page of thumbnails to review. You can also bookmark your searches.
If you use use someone’s image make sure you give credit to that person’s photos.
Google and LIFE
On another image note, did you know that Google is putting Life’s image library online? Yep, check it out here – LIFE photo archive hosted by Google. I searched for Omaha and sure enough they’ve got some pix already to go. Check it out. You can browse through the images by decade as well as search by people, places, events, sports, and culture. You can click on the images to view the full size as well as purchase them.
