How NOT To Get Out Of A Shower

July 11, 2008 · 6 comments

Hello Million Friends,

We skipped town on July 3rd and had a blast in Rochester, MN, with family.

I had a little mishap at the hotel. What happened was that I was stepping out of the shower and there was a lot of water on the floor. I threw the bath mat out to step on and half my foot was on it and half on the floor.

As I stepped out of the shower I slipped forward smashed into the toilet and then my head hit the marble top where the sink lies. It wasn’t too bad, lots of bruises and a gash in my scalp. It happened so fast! Thank God the toilet buffered my fall or I would’ve been seeing stars. More than I usually do, that is!

We went to the Target Pharmacy down the street, showed the pharmacist my head and asked what she would do. She said she would go to the Mayo Emergi-Care, So I just bought some neosporin band-aids and ice for my head. Everything is okay.

As we traveled home, I took lots of pictures. Most of them looked like this picture below.

Let me leave you with the link of the day.

I really like this YouTube Video by Karen Jurik. She talks about some of the colors she likes and why she uses them.

Pray for Peace,
Chris

Oh Chris,
I’m glad you’re okay. Any time you hit your head- emergency room ASAP. It is SO EASY to get a concussion and not realize it.

2004 (wet feet) I fell off a six-foot ladder, hit my knee on a tile counter top coming down: surgery, ‘donor’ tendons, crutches and therapy for months. Like you say, it happens so quickly – at first you’re just more stunned than anything.

I love the flower. I hope you had a good time anyway.

Ouch Chris, just seeing the title of your post made me wince. I hope you’re feeling better!

I guess I’m the complete opposite of Karen Jurik. I use as few colors as I can get away with. Right now I’m down to 6: two reds, one yellow, two blues, and white. I’d love to see a painting demo with all those colors she uses. If it were me, I’d probably lose track of them all!

Be well!

Oh Chris, I’m sorry for your mishappenings! You remind me of a dear friend of mine who always steps into things like this, now I have a second friend with mishappenings?:) No no, take care, treat yourself nicely and I hope you are having a terrific time all the same!

I am also VERy glad you are ok … how scary to be away from home when something like that happens. I think the flower is great.

Vikki, Barbara, Andrea, Dalhia,

Thanks for all your well wishes. Since I wasn’t dizzy and stayed awake all day to make sure I didn’t have a concussion, I didn’t fret.

Karen Jurick has plenty of UTube videos, but I haven’t seen any videos of her going from palette to canvas mixing color.

Barbara your colors are beautiful, I was just looking at your paintings yesterday.

It’s unusual to hear artists talk about using many different colors on a palette.

Suncage, aka Jon Hall, He once told me you can mix any color from red, yellow, blue. (except white of course) He can be seen on Utube as well.
