Drowning in the Sea of Love

Hello Million Friends,

Last night my daughter and her friend Nick Carl came over to visit. I asked Nick to bring his guitar so that I could record a song and post it to my blog.

LaurenNicsmallfile Drowning in the Sea of Love
Nick Carl, guitarist – Lauren Pascale, Vocalist and my daughter

So after two run throughs we started rolling the tape. This is what we came up with, it’s candid, fun and let’s just call it a wonderful exercise in “do I really have the kahunas to do this”? Yes!!

You’ll notice I’m experimenting with facial expressions. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, to hit the right notes. :)

Pray for Peace,
Chris

Oh my God, Chris! You have an amazing range and beautiful voice. Are you freaking serious?!?! I am completely blown away! I applauded and I’m screaming, “ Encore! Encore!”

It’s so much fun to see you on tape. You’re so cute!

Chris, I was mesmerized….and I mean it! You should make a record.
Those high notes – they go right to the heart.

That was amazing. I thought, oh no, okay I’ll watch this, but I wasn’t expecting that kind of soulfulness. That was no awful Karioke night in Scarborough, that was an underground bar filled with cigarette smoke and bourbon. Chris. Wow!!!!!!!!!

@Yellow – Thanks. Great description. A lot of folks can’t hear that kind of meaning in music. Glad you can hear that. I spent a bit of my youth in those types of places. ;) A bit smoky for me now but a lot of fun back then.

There will be an encore!

Cestandrea,
Thank you for your appreciation!

Priscilla,

Yellow,

YOU ALL MADE MY DAY!!!!!!

Hi Chris, I wish you’d do singing posts more often. It’s so endearing that you share the real you; the singing is beautiful of course, and I’m still laughing about the beginning, when you gave your guitarist friend a facial!

Chris Bolmeier June 23, 2008 at 1:36 pm

I feel really comfortable around Nick as you can see. This was only the third time I have been around him. He needs a facial!

There will be more audio singing posts. I would like to do a docudrama about the solo show I’m planning next year.

Really enjoyed the recording Chris – you have a beautiful voice. I love how you put yourself ‘out there’ – great openness and honesty. Your writing also has these qualities (Great ‘About Me’ page).

Your blog is a breath of fresh air.
