Business Card Idea

February 16, 2009 · 9 comments

I ran across this business card the other day and thought it was a great idea.  Even though I already have a business card, I thought I’d use Photoshop to reproduce it – with my information of course.   :)

I’m still looking for the website where I first saw it.  But I thought it was just so-so cool.

Painting of The Day

This is a whimsical painting that I did last week. Remember the old joke, “What do you get when you cross a cow and a pig?”  That’s  what this painting reminds me of.   Originally I had cows in mind, but as I painted them, they started to take on a unique look so I decided, what the heck.

Love the painting – absolutely brought a smile as soon as I saw it. That’s the kind of art that is a total pleasure to live with!

She’s baaaaack! OMG, Chris, this is so you …I love this painting so so much!! The composition shouldn’t work but it does..the legs at the top edge, cow out of sight, and the half-face at the bottom! Is it available as a print yet? How much is the original? I can’t look at it without laughing, so I gotta have it in my life!! I actually don’t remember the joke..so what DO you get when you cross a cow and a pig? One hilarious, excellent interpretation of a joke, that’s what!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, and I agree people love whimsy and unusual things like this painting. I’m showing it Sunday and it will be up for sale.

Now about the joke, there isn’t a specific joke about cows and pigs. I just meant the million jokes out there about “what do you get when you cross a this with a that”. It was just an expression. I’ve been painting, but yes I’m here!

Thanks again my friends.

Miss Chris:

I love this little painting! (And that you paint so well in so many different styles!) I think you should absolutely paint more of these whimsical, colorful creatures. If I had small kids again I would design a kid’s bedroom or playroom completely around this painting or one like it. While adults can certainly appreciate this, it speaks to the kid in me and think it would be great to put a wonderful piece of art like this in a child’s room. Go after those parents! :) :):) You could do a whole show of these at someplace like the Omaha Children’s Museum!

Your painting is adorable. It’s cute and lighthearted, and brings whimsy to the day.

I want to re-do my card too, and this is one idea to consider.
