Hello Million Friends,
Great news, I sold a painting today from the Dundee Gallery. It’s titled Falling LeavesII. If you go to my Imagekind website you can view it there.
Hope this blog post finds you all well. As the summer swiftly passes, I’m usually called upon by various organizations to donate paintings for silent auctions. I love to donate paintings, not only does it make me feel great but it’s also good publicity for me.
I’ve been busy getting ready for my shows in 2009. To accomplish this I take reference photos and write ideas down, setting goals for the work that lies ahead. Timetables, etc.

Acrylic/pastel
24″ x 24″
Not For Sale, however, prints available on Imagekind.
I can also paint one similar if you so desire.
My new web site is ready to go live using a self-hosted WordPress blog and my niece from 13thirtyone design is helping me with a logo. She’s great at what she does.
Angela Ferraro Fanning, my niece, has been cited for her designs and interviewed by some very impressive magazines. HOW Magazine selected her in 2007 for her outstanding business card designs. Freelance Switch interviewed Angela as well and she has written articles for them too. Subsequently she opened an office in the very quaint community of Hudson, Wisconsin.
Today I went to Dick Blick and purchased 20, 24×24 canvases for 70% off. They are all museum wrap so that I won’t have the expense of framing. I’m rolling up my sleeves and turnin’ those babies out!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been blogging for a year and I should throw myself an anniversary party!! You’re all invited. Maybe you can give me some suggestions as to how I should celebrate. This could be interesting!
Pray for peace,
Chris

Hello Chris, the Falling Leaf portrait is very engaging. I see how it would have sold so quickly. I think you should enjoy your anniversary with a very nice bottle of wine and some wonderful friends.
Lukeither,
Sounds like a plan!!!
Thank you, and have a great day.
Chris
Chris, I can’t think of anything much more exciting than 20 new canvases!! (But of course I don’t get out much. Hee hee.)
I love this painting Chris. Defining the background forest with the far side of the main tree is SO clever! The colors are interesting too.
Congrats Chris, for the sale, getting a years blogging under your belt (I wish I kept a note of how I came across great people like yourself) and on having the will power to plan and get organised. I'll bring by bodhran if you promise to sing at the party. I mix a mean Jack & coke, with lime of course, not lemon, and hubby will make his Lebonese couscous. No idea what I'll wear though.
Marsha,
Having 20 new canvases is very exciting. They are mostly 24×24 and then there are about eight 12×12. The perfectly square canvases are different and I’m seeing them alot, but I like them as well.
Nikki,
Thanks so much for the nice compliment on my piece!!
Yellow,
Hi, how are you? One year of blogging, I’ve slowed down on my posts because I have alot of work to do for next year and it’s never too early to start. You look like you’re about 18 from your dancing picture on your blog,it’s great!
Jack and coke….I haven’t had that in a very long time. Half a glass of wine makes me tipsy, but bring on the couscous, yum, yum, yum, I love mediterranean food. Aren’t you lucky!
Thanks,
Chris
Chris hi, it has been a long summer!
Congrats on the sale, that is great!!!
And this painting, so soft and singing the colours, is vibrating.
OK so how will you celebrate the blogbirthday? Which reminds me that I have completely forgotten mine. One shouldn’t forget that!
Thanks for reminding us:)
love
Andrea
OK, so I’ve already left a comment, but every time I come back to check what’s new with you I study the painting a little more. I want to reiterate your genius for painting those furthest branches, central, into the background trees. It’s the perfect technique for leading our eyes into the distance. This painting is truly unique, I love it! Has it changed since this post, Chris? I hope not.
